Ilizarov limb lengthening technique

Limb lengthening procedures using the Ilizarov Technique are performed in cases of severe malformations or large differences in limb length due to birth defects or trauma. These include the treatment of pseudoarthrosis, achondroplasia as well as disorders caused by infection or bone loss.
This particular method can reduce the amount of time spent in hospital and prevent the need for repeated surgeries under general anaesthesia.
