Organising a trip abroad for health reasons is not always easy; that is why GVM’s international department is at your service, to help you manage all phases of your healthcare.
Below are some points that might be useful to you:
1. Documents needed to enter the country:
if you are not a citizen of the European Union (for which the Identity Card is sufficient), you will need an entry visa.
For more specific information, check the State Police site.
N.B.: citizens of some countries do not need to request the visa for stays under 90 days.
2. Airplane ticket(s):
For information on airline companies and flight options that will allow you to reach our hospitals, write us an email using the contacts form
3. Airport assistance:
Once you have booked, you may decide whether or not to use the transfer service. One of our international staff members will meet you at the airport and take you directly to the chosen facility.
You will need to provide us
with the following information at least 3 days in advance:
- your flight number
- arrival date and time
- your name and the name of any accompaniers
- the GVM hospital selected
- any other requirements (e.g. wheelchair)
Our international hospitals are located in cities of tourist interest and thus near hotel facilities and well connected by means of transport.
For assistance, please fill out the form on the contacts page.
5. Request an interpreter:
Contact us for information or to arrange for an interpreter to assist you during your stay in Italy.
